UHC Plan & Rate Updates Effective January 2021

UHC announced rate and plan updates for January 1, 2021 effective dates. Rates are available for quoting!

Rates

Medical (statewide averages, varies by county and plan)

• PPO: 1.8% decrease
• EPO: 4.1% decrease
• HMO: 0.1% decrease

Network Updates

UHC is eliminating the Focus HMO network. Current Focus HMO membership will migrate to Harmony HMO or Advantage HMO.

UHC is rolling out a new network call the California Doctors Plan network which will be an EPO network. The Doctors Plan network is a collaboration between UnitedHealthcare and Canopy Health. It will be available in nine Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano and Sonoma counties.

The Doctors Plan offers plan participants the opportunity to save up to 25% on premiums compared to a traditional PPO offering as well as $0 co-pays for primary care and urgent care, 24/7 telehealth visits, and care coordination driven by a patient’s primary care physician.

Portfolios, Plans & Benefits

UHC is eliminating their Bronze HMO plans.

UHC is reducing the number of primary portfolios they will offer beginning in 2021. The Multi-Choice State package is also available. Here are brief descriptions of UHC's portfolios, please note that all plans within each network may not be available within each portfolio:

• Choice Simplified I (SoCal): Select Plus, Core, Signature, Advantage, Alliance, Harmony
• Choice Simplified II (NorCal): Select Plus, Core, Signature, Advantage
• Choice Simplified III (NorCal - Doctors Plan): Select Plus, Doctors Plan, Signature, Advantage
• Choice Simplified IV (QHP): Core, Navigate, NonDiff PPO, Alliance

Plans may have name and benefit changes.
