UHC Plan & Rate Updates Effective January 2024

UHC announced plan and rate updates for January 1, 2024 effective dates. Rates are available for quoting!

Rates

Quarterly medical changes (averages, may vary by plan and region):

• HMO: 1.1%
• PPO: 3.6%
• Navigate: 5.6%

Annual medical changes (averages, may vary by plan and region):

• HMO: 7.5%
• PPO: 5.2%
• Navigate: 5.6% 

Portfolio Updates

UHC is making the following changes to their portfolio for the 2024 plan year:

• UHC's "Care Cash" benefit is getting added to 1 Platinum, 2 Gold, 2 Silver, and 2 Bronze plans.
• $0 cost share for virtual visits on all plans.
• UHC is removing the Doctors Plan network from their small business offering.
• UHC is discontinuing the following plans:
  • Select Plus Bronze 7500/50% w/Prem Rewards (CV-PU)
  • Core Bronze 7500/50% w/Prem Rewards (CV-PS)
• The infertility optional benefit will continue to be offered with a 3.4% load for HMO plans and 4.9% increase for PPO plans.

New Sales & Conversion Broker Bonus

UnitedHealthcare is offering a bonus to agents who sell new UnitedHealthcare fully insured and level-funded medical plans or who convert existing UnitedHealthcare fully insured medical plans to UnitedHealthcare level-funded medical plans with up to 100 eligible employees, with effective dates from Oct. 1, 2023, through Jan. 31, 2024.

Eligible cases are new UnitedHealthcare fully insured and level-funded medical groups or existing UnitedHealthcare fully insured medical groups (who convert to UnitedHealthcare level-funding) with up to 100 eligible employees with effective dates from Oct. 1, 2023, through Jan. 31, 2024. Only cases with a California situs are eligible for this bonus program.

• New sales bonus: Agents will receive a bonus of $60 for each enrolled employee in new eligible medical groups sold during the bonus period.
• Conversion bonus: Agents will receive a bonus of $60 for each enrolled employee in an existing eligible medical group which converts during the bonus period.
