UHC Underwriting Update for 1099 Employees

UnitedHealthcare is updating their Small Group underwriting guidelines effective immediately to require documentary evidence to enforce California and Federal common law employee requirements. Similar to other carriers in the market, please note, that UHC will not accept 1099 contractors as benefits eligible.1099 contractors currently enrolled in UHC small group plans will need to be transitioned to other coverage at renewal.
