We know groups are asking more of brokers than ever before. That’s why we created our BrokerPicks program to help you offer your groups more services and value. Our BrokerPicks varies based on Small Group or Large Group so make sure you are looking at the one that applies to your new sale. 

Small Group BrokerPicks

Every B&P group is eligible for a free POP plan for a year, regardless of group size or line of coverage - even in force business is eligible.

Plus, new medical groups can also select our Ease or Any Other Service BrokerPicks depending on the number of medically enrolling employees:

  1. New medical groups with 1+ enrolling can get our $1.40 PEPM for 12 months Ease subsidy.
  2. New medical groups with 10+ enrolling can choose the $1.40 for 12 months Ease subsidy OR our $1 PEPM for 12 months subsidy for a qualifying service through any vendor.

Eligible services that benefit the group or employees include online enrollment, Premium Only Plan, COBRA, ERISA, FSA, EAP, and more. 

 

Ease BrokerPicks

30 B&P medically enrolled employees

$1.40 per employee per month subsidy

30 EEs x $1.40 subsidy x 12 months = $504 payment to Ease

Any Other Service BrokerPicks

30 B&P medically enrolled employees

$1 per employee per month subsidy

30 EEs x $1 subsidy x 12 months = $360 payment to the vendor

How does the Ease BrokerPicks option work?

When you submit your new medical group to B&P and elect the Ease BrokerPicks option, we will confirm the initial enrollment at the end of the effective month. We then take the number of medically enrolled employees and multiply that by $1.40 and 12 months. We will then send a payment to Ease for them to apply to your subscription as a credit.

Sample timeline:

  • New 10-life medical group effective April 1.
  • B&P confirms the group is still active and that the initial enrollment is correct at the end of April.
  • B&P sends Ease a payment to credit the broker’s Ease account in mid-May of $168 (10 x $1.40 x 12). 
  • The credit should show in the broker’s account by the end of May.

How does BrokerPicks work for any other non-Ease service?

For any other service besides Ease, please provide an invoice with a description of the expense, the amount paid, and whether it was paid by the broker or the group. B&P will then remit the payment of $1 per B&P medically enrolled employee multiplied by 12 months to the entity that paid the expense.

Small Group BrokerPicks FAQs

 

Large Group BrokerPicks Program

When you place your Large Group business through B&P and they enroll in one of our medical carriers, they can choose a service that benefits the employees which we will pay for or supplement the cost, like online enrollment, wellness benefits, HSAs, FSAs, and more.

Our Large Group BrokerPicks is ongoing, meaning you can continue to provide additional value to your groups for the first year and beyond. Our subsidy varies based on the Large Group carrier and the number of medical enrolling employees:

Anthem Blue Cross
$4.00 PEPM

300 B&P medically enrolled employees

$4.00 per employee per month BrokerPicks subsidy

300 EEs x $4.00 PEPM x 12 months = $14,400 per year

Health Net
$2.50 PEPM

300 B&P medically enrolled employees

$2.50 per employee per month BrokerPicks subsidy

300 EEs x $2.50 PEPM x 12 months = $9,000 per month

Kaiser Permanente
$2.50 PEPM

300 B&P medically enrolled employees

$2.50 per employee per month BrokerPicks subsidy

300 EEs x $2.50 PEPM x 12 months = $9,000 per month

How does the Large Group BrokerPicks subsidy work?

Please provide an invoice with the description of the expense, the amount paid, and whether it was paid by the broker or the group. B&P will then remit the payment based on the invoice amount and the Large Group carrier and the number of employees enrolling in medical coverage, then we’ll multiply that by 12 months.

Sample new group timeline:

  • New group enrolls 300 employees in Anthem Blue Cross Large Group medical coverage effective April 1.
  • B&P confirms the group is still active and that the initial enrollment is correct at the end of April.
  • The broker sends the invoice(s) to B&P for the qualifying services that benefit the group or employees.
  • B&P will remit payment to the appropriate party up to $14,400 in this example (300 x $4.00 x 12 months).

Sample renewal timeline:

  • B&P will verify the renewal enrollment at the end of the first month after the renewal and we will use that enrollment count to calculate the new Large Group BrokerPicks.
  • B&P will reach out to the broker to let them know about this new amount.
  • The broker sends the invoice(s) to B&P for the qualifying services that benefit the group or employees.
  • B&P will remit payment to the appropriate party up to the new amount.

Is B&P’s Large Group BrokerPicks the same for each carrier?

B&P’s Large Group BrokerPicks varies by carrier:

  • $4.00 per Anthem Blue Cross medical enrolled employee
  • $2.50 per Health Net medical enrolled employee
  • $2.50 per Kaiser Permanente medical enrolled employee

While you are welcome to choose any vendor for our BrokerPicks program, we have preferred partnerships with the following vendors for compliance, HSA, FSA, online enrollment, and more:

  • Ease
  • Sterling Administration
  • TASC

We are happy to offer the same subsidy to a different vendor you or the group have in mind, just let us know!
