Anthem announced rate and plan updates for April 1, 2026 effective dates. Rates are available for quoting!

Medical Quarterly Rate Change Average:

  • PPO: 2.3%
  • HMO: 3.0%

 

Medical Average Annual / Renewal Rate Change Average:

  • PPO: 10.4%
  • HMO: 11.9%

 

Reminder: New Anthem PPO Plans as of January 1, 2026 With No Coinsurance, Just Copays

Anthem Blue Cross introduced five new copay PPO plan designs effective January 1, 2026, that offer more predictable costs and eliminate coinsurance uncertainty for in-network services. Here's what members get with these new plans:

  • Simple copays for in-network services 
  • Enhanced virtual benefits (with the flexibility to see doctors in person at standard copays): 
    • $0 Virtual Primary Care through in-networks PCPs 
    • $0 Virtual Behavioral Health visits through in-network providers 
  • A streamlined experience with the Sydney app 

 

These new plans are called Virtual Access Plus, and they are available on Anthem’s full Prudent Buyer PPO and Select PPO networks.

 

Benefits Snapshot: Anthem Virtual Access Plus Platinum PPO 20 (8VEN) 

This plan offers no deductible, a lower out-of-pocket maximum than any other Anthem PPO plan, and only copays for in-network services: 

  • $0 Individual Deductible / $0 Family Deductible 
  • $2,750 Individual OOPM / $5,500 Family OOPM 
  • $20 PCP ($0 for virtual) 
  • $40 Specialist 
  • $20 Urgent Care 
  • $250 Emergency Room 
  • $250/day, 4 days/admit Inpatient Hospital
